We had the good fortune of connecting with Serena Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Serena, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued my artistic career because I love to create art. I am a singer, songwriter, film maker, director, performer – I mean the list goes on and on. If I am not creating, I am not happy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an extremely hands on singer / songwriter! I’m fully involved in all of my songwriting from start to finish. I think one of the biggest things I am excited about is getting back into performing after such wild covid-19 times. The music industry is very challenging and not an easy path at all. It takes a fierce passion for music to not get discouraged by constant rejection and criticism. You have to know who you are, and OWN who you are. That is probably my biggest motto.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My all time favorite places would probably be the beaches in Malibu, shopping on Melrose Ave, and attending concerts all throughout Los Angeles at some legendary venues like The Viper Room and The Troubadour! To eat I would recommend one of my all time favorite places, right off of Cahuenga Blvd, called Spitz Mediterranean Street Food. If you go, you should get the Street Car Wrap, it is AMAZING! For a drink, try one of my all time favorite bars called Bar Lubitsch. They also have live music too which is always amazing! And for something just beautiful to do, I ten out of ten recommend going to the Getty Museum, and see some beautiful art and atmosphere.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my fans 🙂 They are the reason I do what I do. <3
