We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Champagne Terry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharon Champagne, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I was hesitant about taking risk earlier in my career, because your focus becomes very strategic. I planned everything and did nothing that was uncertain. That was the biggest mistake I made, giving in to fear and uncertainty. You can not prepare for change which is uncertain, and can help you grow. I now know that risk has been a major part of my success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am so excited about my company and overall brand. What sets me/my brand apart is that I offer one on one experience to my clients, and most companies are not personable. Its important to me to make sure they are aware of all my expertise and that it could be a one stop shop. It has never been easy run business or expand your brand, but you find what works for you. I didn’t realize I had to understand how my gifts can be shared and not follow how others ran there business but take notes and find my way of doing things. My brand is my story and I intend to tell it to the world; rather its through writing, fashion, blogging or speaking. If you listen, read or watch closely I am sure there is something you would be able to relate to.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend to Fashion District. We would go to Hollywood and take pictures by the sign then grab something to eat at Musso and Frank Grill. We would hit the beach in Venice as we walk the boardwalk. We would hit Elevate lounge for some drinks. I am just in love with L.A. and all that it has to offer.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely give thanks and praise to God. My family, friends and supporters have helped me get to a place of expectancy. I await for great things to happen.
