We had the good fortune of connecting with shehera mocellin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi shehera, how do you define success?
Prior to starting my own business in the health and wellness field, I was a very successful fashion executive and had worked my way up to becoming VP of Sales of a well-known denim brand. At the time, success meant that I was making a quarter million dollars a year and had moved up the ladder of success from being an account executive to becoming VP of Sales. I lived a glamorous life, traveled, and wore the latest designer bags and shoes. I should’ve been happy but somehow, I was not.
After some years in the business, the toll of the corporate world knocked me on my knees. I became physically ill and completely unequipped to deal with the stressors of my position and even though I was successful in my career, the rest of my life was falling apart, specifically my health. I was being rushed to the emergency rooms with chest pains, dizzy spells, I had unexplained weight gain, hair loss and severe debilitating anxiety. In retrospect, I now know that my body was smarter than my mind, and it was signaling for me to slow down, to find my true north and my reason for being embodied in this lifetime which most certainly had to be more than slinging awesome denim everywhere. My soul was not fulfilled and was asking me to reevaluate my life.
So, I finally heeded the call and began to slow down. I went on a healing journey to heal myself, to connect to my heart and soul and figure out what I was meant to do on this human journey. As I healed, I became more myself again and began to experience true happiness. I immersed myself in the wellness world, learning about alternative methods of healing, coaching, nutrition, sound and yoga. As I embodied myself once again, I felt empowered, but also inspired to help others navigate the stressors of our modern life. As a young adult, I had studied psychology to help others but was somehow derailed in fashion. My motto was that if I could do something that could even help even one person and change their life, I would’ve done my due diligence and my life was complete. My illness was my redirection back to being of service and serving my purpose.
Today, I define success by how many lives I’ve changed with my words, my time, my touch and my heart. We are not taught how to take care of ourselves, how to eat properly to support our physical bodies and energy, how to navigate stress or how to align with our true purpose in this lifetime. I have dedicated my life to help as many souls remember their true magic and becoming their own healers. I don’t think there is a greater feeling than when you receive emails or calls from clients who have found their true north, happiness and are fully alive once again because you helped them remember their greatness once again. That is priceless and the ultimate success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Please tell us more about your business: I am an intuitive healer, coach and ascension teacher helping others activate their own inner healer. I use a heart centered integrative approach, combining my medicine wheel of mystical arts of energy healing, sound healing, pranayama, kundalini yoga, sacred meditations, and herbs to help my clients ignite the full magic and spark that exists within them.
I have studied various forms of bodywork, nutrition and healing arts since 2012 which I integrate in my offerings. I am a master level Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Trainer, Reiki Master, Pranic Healer, Nutrition and Health Coach and I continue to study different energetic healing protocols, herbal medicine, Ayurvedic medicine and various forms of sound healing.
My heart-centered integrative approach that I carry into my teachings/coachings, aims to address the range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental influences that affect health, happiness, and vitality. I intuitively curate each session to guide my clients to disentangle from cycles of insecurity, fear, and self-imposed limitations and connect them to their limitless nature to manifest the lives they were born to live.
I believe that healing occurs when the mind, body and soul are aligned in true unison.
How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
I started my business 8 years ago when I quit my corporate job but always had one foot in the fashion world as an independent contractor. I worked several jobs, continued to expand my knowledge and skills as a healer and coach as I didn’t feel I was ready to make a leap into the healing world full time. However, my contracting jobs would always take over most of my time and my focus and energy was mostly directed in building their businesses and making them millions. It wasn’t until I decided to make a full leap of faith and devote myself full to my own brand that my business took off. My full time commitment as well as trust in the universe that there would be net for me if I jumped was the best business decision I made. Today I am as successful as I was in my corporate career, but I work for myself, make my own hours and have created a life by design. I work harder and longer hours but it is all for my own brand and the more I put into it, the more I create value for my clients.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
In retrospect, I now see that the only limitation of having a thriving business in the health and wellness field was in my own mind. We are always held, and supported especially if our mission is aligned with serving others.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Everything we need to heal and thrive is within us already. My offerings help ignite the spark to remember how to live out our highest calling. I offer my guidance, expertise and support step by step to hone in on their gifts, find their purpose, or create a conscious business that is aligned with their mission, and build the life of their dreams with ease and grace.
My unconditional support throughout these extended programs can help my clients truly break free of patterns that are holding them back and become their own healers and gurus.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live my lifestyle. My outings and social events generally involve conscious and mindful practices. That is what brings me joy, balance and where I like to spend my time and also share with others. Being in community with other conscious people is important to me as we create a higher resonance when together.
A typical “Best Day Ever” would start out with a hike in Malibu at either Los Liones, or Point Dume. I generally try to catch the Sunday service at Self Realization Fellowship (lake shrine), then walk around the premises. Then we would venture out to a nice breakfast/brunch at Sun Life Organics or Inn at the Seventh Ray. Spend some time trinket or book shopping at either location, then head to the beach to soak up the light codes, sand and sea. I find nature to be the most powerful healer. A day at the beach is my favorite and most precious gift. I feel renewed, and activated. This would be the ultimate day for me.
A second best day ever would be to start my day with one of my favorite teachers, Gurujas at Rama Institute for a powerful Kundalini Yoga set in community. There is nothing like meditating in a group setting as the group consciousness aids in creating a stronger vibrational field and deeper meditation practice. Plus there is nothing more beautiful than being in a room full of other beautiful souls devoted to clearing their own karma and baggage so they can show up as their authentic selves. Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of awareness and a hard practice. The ones that show up are not there for fashionable purposes but to truly do the work! After an amazing yoga class I would take them to Cafe Gratitude in Venice and again end up at the beach perhaps catching a sound bath at the beach or attending one nearby.
