We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Dreyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had my online community for 7 years before I started my business. I was working in the industry doing similar work to my business and was unexpectedly laid off and thought, “It’s now or never!” I had a seed of an idea in the back of my mind for 2 years but didn’t have a specific product or business model in mind. I knew I wanted to serve people with something that made their lives better. Before my full time gig, I had previously been doing a version of my business on the side for a limited amount of time and saw the impact it made in their lives. I wanted to figure a way to scale that result. I immediately went into “Let’s do this!” mode when my 9-5 ended.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a digital plant-based meal prep membership that helps busy parents make dinner easier by providing weekly meal plans and recipes without time consuming prep so that they can enjoy daily healthy, homemade meals with their family without having to think about it. I take the stress and overwhelm out of meal planning without requiring you to spend hours planning and prepping meals.

My approach to meal prep is different from most in that I plan it around where you need the help the most. My proven 5-step system ensures my members have a meal planning and prep routine that works for them (instead of creating more work). I realize now that all of my 20+ years in marketing and advertising have led me to this new role as an entrepreneur with my own business. Even my last role in my “dream job” was what I needed to bring me to this point in my business.

I created and launched my business in 5 months. It was never easy, and still isn’t but I’ve learned that I can do hard things and everything can be figured out if you’re determined and hard-working. I do what I do because I want to see more parents connecting with their families at the end of the day around healthy, homemade food. I truly believe that we can make a difference in our world by communicating and connecting more thoughtfully and compassionately. If we can embody that first in our homes, I believe our future generations will become more compassionate thought leaders for our world. Through my business, I feel I have an opportunity to be a resource for families to experience that connection.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is such a vast and diverse city to explore! I have loved watching the explosion of vegan restaurants and eateries so I think I’d take them on a food tour through LA! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my husband for encouraging me to just go for it, as well as supporting me grow my business!
