We had the good fortune of connecting with Tayler Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tayler, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Sometimes, we can find ourselves at a crossroads of deciding whether or not to give up based on our circumstances and our feelings or motivation about our dream. The one sign you need in order to keep going rather than giving up depends on the amount of time you’ve spent dwelling on the voluntary and involuntary daydreams of your dearest desire. When you feel less motivated and you feel like you’ve lost the vision, notice what feelings you feel as you ask yourself what if you die without achieving your dream? How would you feel 10-20 years from now if you did not complete your personal mission or what you thought was your mission? What small quiet thoughts enter your mind when you’re doing things you really rather not do. What does your heart tell you that you’d rather do? Ask yourself that question of would you have satisfied that little girl or boy from your past…could you stomach to face that inner child and explain why you never achieved your dream? If the answer is regret, remorse, guilt, or shame, maybe it’s time to consider to keep going. If you feel at peace with never reaching wat you once thought was yours to dream, then don’t pursue it. You don’t want to waste your own time chasing something that’s no longer yours. Wake up to the idea that your dream may have lingered all along, following you like a shadow, awaiting your next BIG move.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, I like to set myself apart by being 100% authentic and relatable to people. I also want to start a conversation, ignite thought-provoking questions, and provide an environment of escapism for my audience. I got to where I am professionally mainly by creating my own projects and sharing them on social media and with my community over the years. I like to create new projects, explore new ideas to share with people and to entertain my own artistic fantasies while bringing them to life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a best friend I wanted to visit the area, I would totally spend the morning at Cafe Sheera for brunch, then go to Malibu Beach, go back to my place, watch some reality tv show before taking a nap. Then going back out to Universal City, getting lunch there, then riding electric scooters throughout the city until the sunset.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank You Shoutout LA for shouting me out! As an multi-talented artist within the entertainment industry, I want to give the biggest shoutout to the most wonderful group of people called my FAMILY! If anything they remind me of my why, they help me when I’m down and sometimes when I no longer want to keep move forward. They are the people that I live for. They are who I want to be successful for. They are the ones that help keep my dream alive because they see it in me, and they know I have it in the palm of my hand.
