We had the good fortune of connecting with The Official King Pain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The Official, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk make champions. Even the most successful people/businesses take risk everyday. Each day I wake up and choose to chase my dreams instead of the traditional 9-5 is a risk. But it’s the most fulfilling, the most gratifying, the most courageous thing an individual can do for themselves. If you don’t believe in you, how can you expect someone to invest in you.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a Licensed Barber, a Loctician, and the Owner of Style King Hair Care. I was tired of being the appendage working for the man. I wanted more. After I lost my last job in Corporate America, I vowed that I would never work for others. So I went back to school. I got my Barbers License in 2016 and immediately began working for myself. In 2020 I launch my own hair care line “Style King”. And, 2022 I’m planning to expand the line from 7 to 14 products.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My go to spot to take my friends when they come to LA to visit is the Castaway. The food there is so good & the drinks are strong. The best part is the amazing mountain top view of Los Angeles as you dine. Then we’d go to the The Secret Hookah Lounge off Hollywood Blvd. to catch some vibes. After hours for some late night fun we’d head out to the Aftys.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I would like to thank GOD, the head of my life and the creator of all things. Then I would like to thank my family, they have always been supportive of me and encouraged my creativity. Last, but certainly not least, I would Like to thank the Armon Wiggins, he motivated me to keep going when I had given up and showed me another way to realize my entertainment dreams.
