We had the good fortune of connecting with Thunderstorm Artis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thunderstorm, why did you pursue a creative career?
Because it’s who I am Meaning even if this wasn’t my work I would still 100% be doing it I believe God creates us all with a purpose and it’s our job to find that purpose and live it out That’s a quote I try to live by, when I Play music I feel so alive and free but that isn’t the main reason I do what I do, it’s because of the live I can change by doing what I do, since I was young I wanted to change the world for the better, And I have is my Gift and my words but I believe the sky is the limit to what I can accomplish with those two things

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
what I think sets me apart from others is not much really, I try to be as genuine as possible with my craft and life-style, I grew up with nothing to my name a homeschooled kid from Hawaii and there were times when things were really bad and we lived out of our Van but I watched my father Build up our Family Business with just his Art and Music from the ground up And watching that happen as a very young Kid, it inspired me and showed me that I could change my life and others with my Gift. and that is what I’ve been doing I’ve been able to tour all over the US performing Music and was on a TED Talk and also got to be apart of a really amazing Talent show called THE VOICE, which was such an amazing experience, and I ended up making it to the Finale and it really changed my life, I learned so much for portion of my life. My journey has not be an easy one, but I owe a lot to my brother Ron Artis II he put the wind under my wings so I could begin to fly and find myself. now I am Singer-Songwriter with my own business And signed to a really amazing agency, But the biggest lesson that I’ve learned in my young life is not to live life in your past accomplishments because they can actually cripple you and stop you from growing instead keep looking forward at just what might happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
well I have I lived all around the world but live in Portland Currently But lets base this in Hawaii so if you were visiting me First I would Take you to The Aloha General store for Shaved Ice On the North shore of Oahu Second take you to this amazing mom and pop shop in Waialua for some amazing fresh POKE Third on the next day I would take you to the most amazing sunrise hike at the Lanikai pillbox and then the finale Jump Rock at Waimea

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
