We had the good fortune of connecting with Wendy Alane Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wendy Alane, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I don’t think of achieving goals as a risk. I make a decision about what I want to accomplish and I am convinced that I’m going to make that happen. No other option exists for me. I have a clear intention inside that is completely manifested already. I strategize to figure it out what it is I need to do to accomplish the goals and I work like a workaholic every single day to make it happen. I don’t make excuses, I don’t listen to negativity, I ignore naysayers, and I stay focused on what needs to be done and the reason why I want to achieve something. Often when people set goals for themselves they spend time thinking about how they could fail, or why they won’t be able to achieve their desired outcome. That’s wasted energy and it can lead to quitting. Quitting is a sure fire way of not achieving your goals. You have to spend your time building yourself up mentally and emotionally, surrounding yourself with positive thinking and stories of other people achieving success. I create a vision board and I write positive affirmations to myself all over my workspace. I listen to audiobooks and podcasts of successful people and subliminals at night to keep my brain having positive empowering thoughts. You have to keep yourself on track even when it’s difficult, even when it’s hard. Nobody can want your success more than you do. You have to be your own best friend and cheerleader in life. There are always two voices in your head one that’s telling you that you can’t do it and one that tells you that you can. The only one you should ever be listening to is the one that tells you that you can. Every person has within them the strength to achieve their goals and their dreams. I believe deeply in people and I know that people are valuable and worthy of success. I believe it’s part of my calling in this life to make sure other people know how incredible valuable they are and worthy of success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the founder of the Hollywood Winners Circle Academy which is now the number one business school in the world for Actors. It’s like a law school or med school for Actors. Every actor should start with Hollywood Winners Circle academy to learn the business side of this Show business. I spent 10 years as a manager 5 years as an agent which gave me incredible insight into what actors need to do to get started in Television and Film. I share that knowledge in my online courses. Talent Agents, managers, and casting directors highly recommend the course and consider it mandatory that Actors take it. “The Hollywood Winners Circle Academy should be the required rulebook for everyone in the industry to follow.” – Todd Eskin, Across the Board Talent, Los Angeles “The online Hollywood Winners Circle Academy is an invaluable resource for actors. It provides vital industry information, resources, and referrals for aspiring talent. Founder Wendy Alane Wright uniquely champions artists. Her philosophies, insights, and encouragement, are awe-inspiring!” – Lindsay Chag, Casting Director
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you come to Los Angeles you have to go down to Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Clemente and see the incredible Pacific ocean. Visit downtown Los Angeles and go up to Perch restaurant to get a great view of the city. Stay in the Ritz Carlton hotel where you’ll get the best treatment ever. Plus eat from the wide variety of foods that L.A has to offer in Thai town, Koreatown, Chinatown, a section of La Brea that has African restaurants.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have learned so much about the power of making choices and our personal power from Tony Robbins. I’ve been reading his books, listening to his tapes, attending his seminars, and studying his material for over 20 years. Oprah Winfrey has been a strong role model for me and influence. I resonate with the way she addresses the human condition and always encourages people to be their highest self. I love books by Neil Donald Walsh, Wayne Dyer, and every business autobiography I can read.
