We had the good fortune of connecting with Zachary Morawiec and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zachary, what matters most to you?
Positivity can go a long way. I feel that most people focus on the negative aspects about themselves. Don’t let your negativity get the best of you. Try to keep in mind the good parts of your life. Learn to appreciate what you have right in front of you rather than focusing on what you don’t have. Such as your loving family, friends, home, hobbies, pets, whatever it may be. If you try to think positively and have just a little optimism in your life, you will go very far. Staying positive 24/7 is no easy task, we are human after all. I myself have had moments where I’ve been in a negative mindset. But you just have to shake off those negative thoughts, jump up on that high horse and keep riding. It’s a lot easier said than done but trust me, staying positive can have a dramatic impact on your work, relationships, outlook towards life and self-appreciation.

I’d say what sets me a part from others is that I have persistence. Being persistent in everything you do will put you on top. I am most proud of achieving my life-long dream of working for Pixar Animation Studios earlier this year as a Layout Intern. I got to where I am today by having persistence. I put in a lot of time and effort into my work, even when the going got tough. I ended up with a strong reel that I used to get into Pixar. It wasn’t easy by any means. There were a lot of sleepless nights, months and years that went into making my work. I overcame these challenges by taking breaks when needed and set time for myself to relax and have a life so I wouldn’t get burnt out. Being burnt out is the worse thing that can happen to you. I’ve learned that having time for yourself is very important and actually makes you more productive and happy in the long run. I would like the world to know that I am a person who is determined to get stuff done and a person that has a can-do, optimistic attitude towards their work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would recommend going to the sci-fi bar “Scum and Villainy Cantina” if you are a big fan of sci-fi films and getting drunk with your friends. This bar is especially a great choice for fans of Star Wars as the bar is literally a real-life version of the Mos Eisly Cantina. I would also check out a movie studio tour and also see if you can get tickets to film screenings for movies still in production that are open to the public. My last thing I would recommend is to go hiking in Griffith Park and check out the Griffith Observatory where you can see all of L.A. and the Hollywood sign!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my family, friends and mentors for supporting me throughout the years.
