We had the good fortune of connecting with Prymrose Burgos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Prymrose, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Considering the current situation we’re all facing these last few months. This question has been weighing a bit heavier on my mind. How to know whether to keep going? I know I don’t want to give up, but it’s the easiest route to take right now. Problem solved! I was not raised to be a quitter. So I go back where it all started. It’s May 4, and it’s the gym’s 2nd year anniversary. The gym is empty and quiet. It brings tears to my face, and saddens me that it could end just like that. I blast music, and I workout! It has always been a safe haven for me, and so I begin to let go of all bad feelings. I walk the gym filled with many memories written on the walls, and remember the WHY? I refocus and share my thoughts in a post. The out pouring love and support with the community I built with, give me reasons to pull through and keep going.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a boxing gym in Eagle Rock. Headway Boxing is a small family own business, and it has opened the doors to all races, genders, age, and all walks of life. I’m proud to have built a community, and excited for what’s to come. The pandemic will not close us, and we will continue to rebuild together. It will not be easy, but we will try to adjust and keep going until we are back on our feet. Our clients have been very understanding, and continue to support us. So will continue our commitment to them. We will serve and fight for those that need a safe space.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My reasons to keep going are my family and friends. Sounds cliche, but they give sense and purpose to what I want to achieve. They were mentioned on my previous article, and it has not changed. They are still there for me, rooting and keeping me grounded. I do what I do, for them. I will forever be grateful for this achievement. Thank you!
