We had the good fortune of connecting with Richard-Lael Lillard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Richard-Lael, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Of all the habits which have helped me to become “The Gentleman Psychic”, my favorite is taking weekly meditation baths with differing ingredients depending upon what my focus is. I feel it is important to take time for the self. I could not give so much to others without self love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The Gentleman Psychic produces weekly videos on YouTube, with topics ranging from the occult and it’s history, personal magick spells, and Victorian culture. I offer a wide variety of services, from psychic readings, courses in the occult, spells, seances, This business began first as an offer to those on Facebook page. Then in one review, someone stated “he is a gentleman and a psychic.” That was my mission statement and soon became my title.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First of all I would want them to come get a reading from me. We would sit in my victorian parlor and drink tea and forget that time exists. Then should there be a suitable number of sitters, I would lead them in a seance. I would then have them visit the Diehl -Marcus & Company. They specialize in Rare vintage and antique pieces. They collect not only unique items, but their shoppe acts as a gathering place for poets, artists, historians, and vintage clothing enthusiasts. I would then advise a visit to the Santa Monica pier, via historic Route 66. Along the way they will encounter the infamous Colorado Street bridge. Then a drive up the coast on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many inspiring people in my life. I would like to thank my dear friend Brandi Graber. She was the first to notice the spark of the occult in me. I would like to thank Annalisa Bastiani for creating an environment for me where I did not have to be afraid to show my ability to communicate to the other side. Special thanks to Joene Bone, she and I had long talks about the metaphysical and she nurtured me along the path. Love to San Francisco based yoga teacher, Tony Eason. He taught me the importance of breath. He taught me that I can do what I set my mind to. A special thanks to my sweet friend, Patti Negri, The Good Witch. She and I became instant friends. The second we met. It was through her recommendation, that I was able to be on Ghost Adventures. To my Coven. Genna Sharp and Jared Michael Degado. Together we are able to unite our minds and cast very powerful spells.
