We had the good fortune of connecting with S Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi S, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea of starting my own business was something I never considered…until I did it. I was pushed forward and turn a side project into my business. After much consideration I decided to take advantage of the skills I gained from my 9-5 corporate experience and transfer them over to my own thing. I knew if I put the same time and energy I’d been putting into these corporations into myself that roads to success could be endless. With an abundance of love and support from my village, I took some time to I gather my thoughts and developed a plan. That plan became a goal and here we are now- YO FAVE BARTENDER (my mobile bartending service)!!!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from other mobile bartenders, I believe, is my creativity, ability to problem solve, and dedication to giving my clients my undivided attention. My clients often come to me initially just searching for a quick bartender option. Soon enough I become their bartender, personal shopper, party planner, and so much more. I have been in this industry long enough to meet other business owners and vendors and I believe I have been able to achieve this level of success by keeping an open mind. When I first started I had different ideas of what I wanted YoFaveBartender to look like but as I developed my business, what I thought I needed to do to be successful changed. I listen to my clients needs/wants and I allow that to drive my service delivery. And so, success has been knocking at my door since.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA has so much to offer! I’m a major foodie so I love to check out local food places. Ocho Rios Jamaican Grill is delicious! World Wide Taco is also a must (order in advance though). For a night of good fun check out World on Wheels. And depending on where you are in LA you might get lucky while walking down the LA streets and hear some live music at local bar in the Downtown area. Those are some things I enjoy.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to the community for supporting my dream. Thank you for every Instagram like, Facebook referral, and a major shout out to my clients, both past and present. I could not be your favorite bartender without you all! (You get it…hence, YoFaveBartender haha
