We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Peters and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Travis, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Scrappiness. As a marketing and media agency in a giant sea of other marketing and media agencies, we’ve always done one thing that’s set us apart- We’ve been able to find creative ways to stretch a marketing dollar. As a young entrepreneur, I was forced to learn how to be scrappy when building my first business. I didn’t have investors or any other sources of cash, aside from the few dollars in my bank account. I built 3 successful brands by getting creative and finding low budget ways to reach my customers. Now we apply those same principals at itseightpm.com with both SMB’s and fortune 500 companies.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We’re a media agency. Our name represents the hour of peak consumer attention. Studies show that at eight o’clock PM consumers are paying the most attention to the content that we serve. Our content delivers across social media and television (both traditional & over-the-top streaming) in both paid and earned forms. We work a lot with the film industry in Los Angeles, in securing branded products on screen in television and film.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d spend a lot of time in the often overlooked downtown LA area. I’d take them to grab a drink at Modern Times Dankness Dojo & a bite at Little Sister. We’d check out the art walk on Spring St. and grab some late night food at the Pantry. You could spend an entire week in downtown Los Angeles and you wouldn’t even see 10% of what there is to see.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My life partner, Linda Chau, has been a part of my success story since the very beginning. In fact, prior to meeting her, I had the drive for entrepreneurship but I lacked the confidence. I met Linda 7 years ago and she gave me the confidence to launch the media agency EightPM which has since served thousands of SMB’s and Fortune 500 brands.
