Meet Tracee Dunblazier | empath, shaman, & award-winning author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracee Dunblazier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tracee, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I don’t think I believe in “risks”, just valuable consequences. Some choices create more impactful results. What I do believe to my core? I believe there is a right choice for every individual in every situation, and to be mindful in making those choices by being thoughtful in their execution, and recognizing who and how others will be effected.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an empath and shaman, I work with clients, often in times of their greatest distress, so entering into the more mundane rythmn of the detailed world of publishing required a new level of balance and focus on my part. To accomplish it, I needed help. I was faced with a whole new set of tasks for which I did not yet have the skills. Through many members of COVR, I accessed the information, education, and support I ineeded to learn all the elements required to become an independant award-winning publisher and author. What I learned from the experience? Deadlines are a valuable motivation if you don’t let them diminish your inspiration or obstruct your will, once they’ve passed and your art isn’t yet complete. Every project has a process that must be respected, and if you don’t quit, you will be successful–despite your deadlines. I created GoTracee Publishing and the twelve books and oracle decks I’ve written, to support people who are are grieving; who are suffering from the hidden task-masters of their minds and histories. In hopes of bringing a new perspective and opportunity to open their hearts and move forward.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, between the pandemic and the fires, almost all my favorite spots are gone. One of my all-time favorite coffee shops is still thriving in Hollywood, it’s called Alcove–there’s always good people watching, eats, ands sips. In alignment with my cove theme, there is the loveliest private beach and restaurant on the way to Malibu, called Paradise Cove. The most exquisite moment to go is during hurricane season in Mexico, when they send incredible swells up the coast. Imagine enjoying an overcast day, ocean mist in the air, sitting at a table at the waters edge with waves crashing against the berm. The falconers may be there during the lunch rush with an owl or red tailed hawk, to keep the gulls in line and away from your lunch. There are some interesting and under-appreciated neighborhoods with community and interesting restaurants, gift, and crystal shops that would love your support: Uptown area in Whittier, West Adams in LA, Sunset Blvd in Echo Park, Washington Blvd. in Alta Dena, South Lake Ave. in Pasadena, Chung King Alley in Chinatown, and York Ave. in Highland Park. All these places offer food, drink, art, and interesting people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout to the Coalition of Visionary Resources (the trade organization for the Mind, Body, Spirit marketplace). I became a member of COVR after the publishing of my first two books, and received several COVR Visionary Awards for them. It’s been eleven years and I have journied through being a member, sitting on the board of Directors, to now serving as president of the organization. I have been mentored and supported by fellow board members and members alike and have learned so much about publishing, writing, editing, and every other aspect of my business, and I am grateful.
