Colossians 3:23 says “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” It reminds me that I am working for a greater purpose, not just for a paycheck or to please other people. I should be held to a higher standard in all areas. Read more>>

A phrase I tend to throw around and tell myself often is “eat your vegetables”. It’s simple, nostalgic, versatile, and maybe a little goofy; a few qualities I try to embody. Yes, definitely eat those dark cruciferous greens and the whole rest of the veggie rainbow (self care is important) but that’s not what I mean. Beyond physical health you can “eat your vegetables” in many other ways. It has become a cheeky metaphor I use for things that I don’t necessarily want to do in that moment, but should. Read more>>

Dr. Elliot Hirsch | Board Certified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

“Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” That is a quote from the late John Wooden, the former UCLA men’s basketball coach. This is important because we always try to do the right thing for our patients and help them achieve their goals, even if it means it is a long road to get there. Read more>>

Alessandro De Gennaro | Actor

Yes I do! One of my favorite quotes was said by the one and only Philip Seymour Hoffman: “The ambition, the drive, the wanting to be the center of attention, the wanting to succeed… they’re all inside me somewhere. I think you should be serious about everything you do because this is it. This is the only life you’ve got.” To me this means that there really is no barrier that stops us from accomplishing our biggest dreams, we are the barrier. Read more>>

My favorite quote is by Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” It’s what inspired me to lead a vegan lifestyle, which ultimately led to the launch of my business. It’s what fuels my daily motivation to make the world a better place and give back. If I can leave this world a little better than I found it (and raise children who do the same), I will consider my life a success. Read more>>

Ebony N. Mayo | Actress, Entrepreneur, & Philanthropist

I do, it’s my own quote. “Taking risk does not make you unwise…it makes you courageous to confound the wise.”~Ebony N. Mayo I love this quote because it came to the me the moment I decided to drop out of my graduate school program and change careers as a counselor to an actress and entrepreneur. I relocated to Georgia and eventually Los Angeles, CA. When I decided to change careers in my mid-late twenties and move across country, people thought I was crazy. Read more>>

Kendal Brenneman | Actress, Influencer & Entrepreneur

I actually keep a document full of quotes I love, and it’s difficult to pick a favourite, but this one is one of them: The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man. George Bernard Shaw I am often told to be more reasonable, to accept things the way they are, but I find it very difficult. I like that Mr. Shaw believes in the unreasonable man (and woman) and reminds us that this is how we make positive change in the world. Read more>>

Kaylee Boyle | Founder & Owner

My favorite quote is from a song by Doris Day called Que Sera Sera. The song progresses through the life of the singer – from childhood, to falling in love, to parenthood – and asks each time a different version of “What lies ahead?” and the chorus repeats the answer: “Whatever will be, will be. The future’s not ours to see.” My mom used to sing this to me as far back as I can remember and I even have the words tattooed on my arm. I consider it a sign from the Universe that I’m on the right path if I ever see or hear “que sera sera.” Read more>>

Pier Nirandara | Film Executive, Bestselling Author & Underwater Photographer

I’m a massive lover of words, quotes, and literary isms. My personal travel and photography brand, Pier’s Great Perhaps, draws from such a quote — one by French poet Francois Rabelais: “I go to seek a Great Perhaps.” Apparently it was the last thing he said before he died, and I found it oddly poetic in summing up that quest in discovering the unknown. Recently, I stumbled across another one that really resonated as well: “Life is hard for two reasons. Because you’re leaving your comfort zone or because you’re staying in it.” Read more>>

Elexis Ansley | Billboard Charting Singer-Songwriter

One of my favorite affirmations is “All time is here and now”. We can’t go back to the past and the future isn’t here yet, so if we’re too busy regretting the past or worrying about the future we lose what’s right here and now. And that’s where our true power lies. Your life is this moment, always. Read more>>

Brianna Valdez | Student & Makeup Lover

My favorite quote that I always look back on when I need a little motivation or courage is “life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” My favorite thing about it is that it encourages me to always put myself out there and push myself past that feeling of being scared to try new things. When you try something new, different, or even something that may scare you a little bit, it can lead you to some of the best experiences of your life. You never know what could happen if you step out of your comfort zone! Read more>>

Polina Roytman | Costume Designer & Fashion Stylist

This is my life, and freedom is my profession.” –Eugene Hütz / Gogol Bordello, from the song ‘Undestructable’ This quote has meant a lot to me throughout the years for various reasons. The moment I heard it I felt understood. I could relate to it so deeply. Originally from the Soviet Union and leaving in 1989 right before the collapse, I have many memories of oppression, racism, fear. Being Jewish in the USSR at the time was terrifying and unsafe. Alexis Walker | Owner

My favorite quote is one of my own, which goes “When acting in faith, you cannot micromanage God. Let go and let God!” ; which talks about releasing the fear and doubts that come after setting our heart and intentions on our desires. If we stand in faith, we should be able to sit back as God works it out on our behalf, without an assist, without micromanaging, and without input! Read more>>

Rodney Damon Collins | Actor, Author, Speaker, Podcast Host, Writer & Producer

My favorite quote/affirmation is: Leave on “E”. The phrase is Leave on Empty. I am focused on leaving this world completely empty of all of my god-given gifts. I will not be a contributor to the wealth of dreams and goals that lie in the cemetery. The cemetery is the richest place in the world because so many dreams and goals die with people. By living by this quote, I am constantly seeking ways to grow and allow my gifts to be used to improve the lives of others. Read more>>

Sharisse Adams | Mixologist of Natural Skin & Haircare

I actually love quotes. Right now my favorite is “Keep Life Simple” for me it represents balance. As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more patient with everything, and not letting life’s challenges get the best of me. It’s not always easy to keep life simple, trying to balance family, relationships, work, and entrepreneurship. One of my simple pleasures is sitting in my sunroom in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee. That simple pleasure alone gives me a positive outlook and jumpstart to get my day off to a great start. Read more>>

Liberty Worth | Artist

My favorite quote when it comes to creativity is this one by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: ““Talent is always conscious of its own abundance, and does not object to sharing.” To me it is a reminder to be generous and open to those around me. It’s a call to action – to mentor those behind me and to honor those who shared generously with me from their points of experience and talent above me. If I look at the world as if there’s not enough to go around, I will not be free to create from my heart. Read more>>

Brittany (P.S can you guys use my stage name called Brigitte) Davis | Artist & Entrepreneur

My favorite quote is, “I go to seek a Great Perhaps” from the book Looking for Alaska by John Green. I came across this book in 2014 when I moved to America and started Highschool. Since then, it stuck with me and motivated me to push for greatness in life. It has shaped me to become more free spirited and to come out of my comfort zone. I was able to break boundaries and push myself to become known to the world and I will not stop until everyone knows my name for creating my own grand legacy. Read more>>

Lyndon Laveaux | Artist

An affirmation that resonates dearly to my soul, would be an amalgamation of a couple of them, ranging from Maya Angelou to James Baldwin to Jim Morrison, but I believe I can break the soul of those mentions and many more to two sentences; “I’m enough and I’m worthy. I spent years being timid by my own voice, not trusting myself, living through people’s eyes, but once I began to discover self love I began to have faith my intuition and my creative spirit. Flobo Boyce | Stand Up Comedian, Digital and TV Host & Master of Ceremonies

Of course! I truly believe in this: “Make Your Hometown Proud.” It really sums up my approach to my life, art and business. You can work for your own growth, but do so in a way that exhibits leadership and compassion for others. I’m from Brooklyn, NY and that town has its own share of values, perspectives and ideals. When I come across any professional challenge, I like to envision the resilience of the people back home. It really helps to push me forward. Read more>>

Will Kim | Artist & Educator

“I love animation, but when someone says to me, “this is the right way to animate, and that is the wrong way,” the hair on the back of my neck stands on end. It’s like saying the only way to paint correctly is the academic way. If every artist had stayed true to the Royal Academy of France, we would never have seen the birth of impressionism.” by Cornelius Cole III This means the world to me. Read more>>

Boryana Popova | Teacher, Performer & Recording Violinist

One of my all-time favourite musicians, Freddie Mercury, once said: “If I didn’t do this well, I just wouldn’t have anything to do… I can’t cook, and I’d be a terrible housewife.” Behind the obvious humor of this quote, there is a serious statement that, I’m sure a lot of musicians can relate to. At one point we all have asked ourselves what else we can possibly do, and very often nothing comes to mind, or at least nothing that can bring us the same level of excitement and happiness.
