We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Lloyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was never intended for the public. I was feed up with the nail shops and I thought to go for it and learn to become a nail technician. Once i was ready to be 10 toes down with the commitment I took the necessary step to become a nail tech and own my own business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The name of my business is Amni Professional Nail Services which my husband came up with. I threw myself in the nail industry by being fed up with the nail shops. Moving forward, I started doing nail care / extensions for myself then later decided to go public. Like anything new there were challenges but with support from my family it was easy to get over them. I love what I do and love everything about nails, from gel manis to xxxl acrylic as they call “Instagram nails”. I’m most proud that I was able to build a client through the pandemic and flourish. I set myself apart from others especially the nail shops is when you come to me you get more of a experience. I have a private studio where when you book there’s no waiting and you in a comfortable environment. There’s no wait time your in for your appointment and out to enjoy the rest of your day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow that’s a good one. I’m more family oriented and who needs the clubs or the extra expensive dinning when you can eat good and enjoy your family. But for sure I would what side of town to go like Hollywood, Downtown La & Long Beach. Being that the city is just really opening up again there’s no limits to some fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize my husband which has his own printing company, Spladow Printing. He helped me a lot along the way. Times I wanted to give up he pushed me to not give up.
