We had the good fortune of connecting with Brett Stanley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brett, what do you attribute your success to?
I think having a relaxed approach with my clients and always putting them first has been a large part of my success. Also not being scared to try new things and push the envelope a bit has really set me apart from similar businesses.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel in love with underwater photography very quickly as it has allowed me to explore not just the creative side of photographing people underwater, but it also makes me think outside the box for new shoot ideas and to create equipment and tools that aren’t really available for such a niche style of photography. I’ve learned that I’m driven to create images that I’ve not seen before, to try and keep things unique and fresh as much as I can – and having clients who love the worlds I create is just the icing on the cake really!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m not one for the busy night life of the city, so my favourite spots in LA include the Angeles State Forest where I love hiking with my dogs, Catalina Island for great diving, and Huntington Dog Beach for sunset walks with the pups!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My clients and collaborators need all the recognition as without them I’d have nothing. They put their trust in me everytime I work with them, and they supported my work when they’d maybe seen nothing like it before.
