We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Leigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
My business wouldn’t be thriving without discipline, self love, and confidence. I am a one woman operation (as of now). If I’m not promoting my services, checking my emails, taking payments, booking appointments, and mind, body, soul connected for my sessions I wouldn’t be as successful as I am. I’ve been driven as an entrepreneur since I was 13 years old with my own baby sitting company.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been seeing spirits. having psychic abilities, and studying the occult since I was a child. I’ve always considered myself a witch. It was only natural for me to do this professionally. After friends and family pushed me to start a business I finally started my psychic medium business in 2018. When I first made a website I offered complimentary readings in exchange for reviews for about 300 people. It took me months to complete and I worked another job to survive. I wanted to get my feet wet reading for strangers.
I got my first residency at Spitfire Girl on Melrose on Friday nights. It was there I read for celebrities for the first time and I did a lot of networking. My first celebrity podcast appearance was on Lance Bass’s Pop Cast and it was on from there!
This hasn’t been an easy journey, as any entrepreneur can attest to. In the beginning there were months when I didn’t have clients. There were times I paid to be at events and I would walk away breaking even, sometimes losing money.
Don’t even get me started on how some people treat psychic mediums in the 21st century. My least favorite energy to read for are the ones that challenge and try to test my abilities. At this point in my career, I am word of mouth in LA. So, either someone referred my services or I’ve been seen on television or heard on a podcast. I do not need to be “tested” and a psychic always knows when someone isn’t being truthful.
The reality is there are still violent and slanderous people that are killing witches literally and metaphorically. Spiritual warfare is real and I’m tested from time to time. This work is not for the faint of heart and isn’t for everyone. I constantly have people telling me “I could never put myself out there like you do.” It takes great strength for sure.
I’ve learned many lessons in this business, mostly about myself and spirituality. I’m often awestruck & in a state of my mind being blown. I’ve healed parts of myself as I heal others. I’m grateful for this always.
What do I want the world to know about me and my business? Well, for starters I am a Native American woman from the South and I am self made, I don’t come for generational wealth or any wealth for that matter, I’ve been homeless in LA, and I’ve been knocked down many times. I am proud to say I’ve been in Los Angeles for 10 years now and living in my dream neighborhood completely supporting myself from my business. This truly is a story of I started from the bottom now I’m here and I’m so damn proud of myself!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is so magical and one of the best cities in this country. Of course my starting point is Los Feliz. I’d take you on a hike in Griffith Park to the observatory bc its a one of a kind. We can dance and spin in circles in the Enchanted Forest. Then I would take you to Figaro Bistro for drinks & an appetizer and/or Little Doms for more drinks & dinner. And of course some karaoke & dancing at Ye Rustic Inn. I wouldn’t let anyone leave without taking them to Topanga Canyon and a drive down the PCH to Malibu. Soho House in Malibu is truly my favorite and one of the last places I did an event before the pandemic.
I would take them to a show at the Whiskey A Go Go and of course we couldn’t leave the sunset strip without experiencing debauchery at the Rainbow. And depending on which one of my friends could get me into the Chateau Marmont I’d go there. My goodness I could write a book on my memories there!
Oh! And I can not forget the Mystic Museum in Burbank! It’s a must see.
I could go on and on for places to visit in this wonderful city! I promise we will not be bored! Much love for LA. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many I would love to give a shout out to! My wonderful clients as I wouldn’t be in business without you all. My mom, my brother, my dear friend Sarah McNeilly (owner of Candle Magick Yoga), Lenora Claire and everything she’s done for victims, Trap Witch as I consider her a mentor. I’d also love to give a shout out to Nicole Burron, Meena Zia, Tarah Byrd, Amy Schmidt, James Jones. Shayla Stonechild, Natasha Estrada, Jerry Jade and of course Lance Bass and Brittany Furlan for believing in me. I know I’ve missed some, but I love you all! Thank you for making me who I am today.
