We had the good fortune of connecting with D’erreus Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi D’erreus, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Persistence is the biggest key factor behind the success I have thus far. Staying consistent through the obstacles life throw at you is a struggle within itself.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would say my art is timeless. Each piece is created with the intent to spread a positive out look through life’s adversities. I am most proud of the fact I didn’t give up on attracting my dreams along my journey. Therefore, I got where I am today through staying consistent with my craft no matter what life challenges that were encountered along the way. My key for overcoming those challenges were making sure I found the balance between personal life and work. Making sure no matter the day I had to delegate time for my craft. A lesson I learned along the way would be to just put in the work and trust YOUR process. An it’s emphasizes on your because everyone’s journey and story is different. Something I would like the world to know about me and my brand is that everything was earned through dedication and hard work. This is only the beginning as we continue shooting for Greatness.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some places I would recommend to a friend visiting Atlanta would definitely be Roc South cuisine, The High Museum, The Trap Museum, Piedmont Park, Coca Cola Factory, and of course the belt line just to name a few
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For the most apart I would like to say my family and my friends are a big support system. A few books I can credit would be: Think and Grow Rich, As A Man Thinketh, and The Four Agreements to name a few.
