We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika Montoya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erika, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I am an artistic person who loves to paint and create, so finding a field we’re I can be creative and make people feel beautiful was my goal.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In the hair industry it’s important to be hardworking and innovative. You need to be up to date with the latest hair trends and be able to execute them. I’ve learned that taking the time to hear your clients and learning to create custom experiences for each person will create beautiful relationships and gorgeous hair.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is such a beautiful city, so much diversity with many things to do. Some of my favorite places are food spots like “dan sung sa” in K-town or “sugarfish” in Hollywood. At night I love to go out, I love this goth club “bar sinister” and this bowing alley called “shatto 39 lanes”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am very thankful for my mom and my partner who both pushed me to be creative and to find something I love to do. They have been an amazing support system for every step of my career.
