We had the good fortune of connecting with Hyla Frank and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hyla, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
To make what you love and what your customers love! I definitely had many ideas of where my business could go or what I could make but I saw a pattern of my customers loving custom pet portraits so I continued to make that.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am most proud that my business are that my products are pieces that people cherish and love for many years even after purchasing. I have gone through different situations of overcoming manufactoring techniques to make sure that my products use the least amount of plastics and that I can use all natural fabrics for my pillows and blankets. I also have learned different lessons about finding local vendors so I can have meaningful relationships with the people who help me make my products. I really aim to have my business contribute the least amount of waste as possible for this earth, but are also durable and will last longer then a lifetime for everyone who purchases a product from me!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In LA, we are really lucky to have so much variety in our outdoors and nature. My favorite activities are hiking and going to the beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To every great dog owner and lover!
