We had the good fortune of connecting with James Lucas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi James, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
We’ve discovered that the more we practice and coming up with new ideas together the greater success we have. It is important to share ideas with each other to help us grow musically.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Dear Banshee apart from other acts in the Bay Area is our musical approach. None of the band members have defined roles and we are constantly changing up each band members instrumentation. On some songs Michelle will play bass and on others she will play piano, Nick will play guitar on some songs and keyboard on others. It keeps things engaging for us and it let’s us play around with different ideas. Playing our material live is not easy. In our newest live concert, that is now available on youtube, we show our audience how difficult it is to perform our songs.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shout out Andy Markantonatos who was responsible for creating our amazing music video for our newest track “Plagued.” Andy’s work tells a story while our music is the soundtrack for his incredible visuals.
