We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalvin Trevonte and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kalvin, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is honestly something that i will always do especially when it comes to my career! I’ve always (for the most part) been a “dreamer” type of person and felt like if i can’t live my dreams than i don’t want to live at all. So if i come across a decision that will have even the slightest percentage of something being so beneficial to making my dreams happens, than i am going at with FULL force.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a dancer/creative from the Bay Area. And i am a person that doesn’t necessarily like labels so i think something that sets me apart is that if i am creating a project you’ll never know what type of project will come from it, There are so many levels to me that i can’t just rely on one of them to tell the world who i am i have to explore them all.
Some lessons I’ve learned along the way are no
There will ALWAYS be obstacles and how i deal with them determines how well I’ll deal with the next one.
It’s SO OK TO BE YOURSELF.
And what is meant for you will always be for you and you won’t miss out (still adjusting to this lesson today)
I want the world to know that whatever i put out, that i have already fallen in love out of love, hated it and loved it again in so many cycles that nothing any one says can do any damage to it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go to Something Vegan in Burbank because that is literally my favorite place
Hit up six flags 😜
Maybe the movies
Dance a little (a lot)
Hang out a lot with friends maybe
And find any place to eat again lol
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So for the past 6 months i have been apart of an amazing Mentorship/training program (MOTUS THE COMPANY) in LA created by an amazingly talented dancer/artist Diana Matos, who has and extremely long resume in the dance industry. And when i started my journey with her company i was working on my mental/physical and emotional journey of elevation. With her guidance I’ve been able to reach so many heights within my mind body and SOUL, I’ve laughed cried bled, you name it with motus and it has brought me to my happiest point to date. I still put so much work for myself outside of motus but it has done wonders for me,
It has helped me with Accountability, helped with my drive to succeed and be unapologetically myself, my strength in my mind, and definitely my confidence.
also my close circle has played a MAJOR part in my emotional journey and i will love them forever for that as well.
