We had the good fortune of connecting with LeShawn Montrae Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LeShawn Montrae, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me, the thought process behind starting my own business is very niche and very on brand for myself. So basically I love entertainment and everything about the industry (including the bad as well, it comes with the territory) and I wanted to at least dip my feet in every possible avenue of it, mainly the ones that peaked my interest. Specifically speaking about my new business venture The LAYTE NYTE PODCAST, I always felt as though public speaking would one day be apart of my resume specifically motivational talks and bringing light to what’s going on in the world. I love interviews, I enjoy hearing people talk about life stories, open up about their struggles or just shed a light on problems they feel strongly about. I’ve always been the friend you can come and talk to and open up to without judgement and give you a real, raw, genuine answer so as time went on and podcasting became more popular, the idea of it fit me and it made sense to start one and have these solo discussions with my viewers and invite people on that were close to me on my everyday life or one i found interesting. I can’t wait to launch soon.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think my journey is what sets me apart from others. We all have a unique life path and I would just love to share mine with the world. I feel like I can help so many people and give individuals something to watch and listen to that will make them feel better, educate or just keep them on the right path. The different topics I want to discuss is just so funny yet needed and I feel like it’s more discussions that we need to have to the point it’s literally making me so excited right now and jump for joy as I say this. Having different point of views, learning what made you get here, are you willing to keep that same mindset or can it change, those are all questions and topics that make me tick and i feel a strong desire to discuss them especially around politics, the LGBTQ+ community, upbringings etc. they all go hand and hand and I love it. My podcast will be a safe space for opinions just as long as respect is given but I can’t wait for the various emotions I want it to induce. Getting started is the hard part but I have a vision and can’t wait to one day put it in full effect.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Lately I’ve been into more things that the normal person in St. Petersburg Fl probably wouldn’t possibly participate in. I probably would take them to the range, just for fun, maybe golf since I did it when I was younger but never fully participated but i’ve been surrounded by a few golfers so I feel like its a sign. Sip and paints are definitely on the list as well as horseback riding. One thing I learned about myself is i’m not much of a club person anymore although i do still enjoy going out and being the life of the party. I just prefer more quietness and solitude lately so i would want to show the people close to me that side of me. Maybe a few baseball games as well since it’s their season. GO RAYS!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can credit so many different individuals to why I do what I do for each business but specifically speaking about the LAYTE NYTE PODCAST I have to give credit to the Pour Minds podcast. I’ve recently fell in love with their podcast and getting to know them and hear their stories as they’ve always popped up on my For You Page on TikTok so I decided to give one of their episodes a full blown listen and instantly liked their vibe and appreciated hearing a side of 2 individuals lives that i won’t get to experience. The next podcast duo who I enjoy listening to is NIkki & Brie Garcia known as WWE Hall of Famers and trail blazers for women’s wrestling The Bella Twins. They inspire me in so many different areas of my life but their podcast is so light, airy and just a good time. There’s never any negativity and it’s my perfect escape after work especially with a glass of wine and I look at it as a good way to keep up with their lives in and out of the ring. Lastly Leo Skepi is someone who i’ve always admired and hearing his story and the reason why he has his podcast is so commendable. The life advice he gives is unlike anyone and I may not know him personally but he gives off the vibe of a perfect big brother. Each podcast has something I can only hope to bring to mine.
