We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharie Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharie, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“What’s for you, will always be for you” That quote in particular takes me back to a time when I was younger, and I was auditioning for this short film production. I was so full of the possibility of not getting the role that I wouldn’t allow myself too bask in the experience as a whole. My aunt pulled me to the side and said “Whats for you, will be for you… and what’s not for you is for someone else.” I took that as my loss could be another persons gain. I may not have gotten that role but the person who was meant to have it, gained the experience they needed to help with the development of them as a person. I learned something that day that will forever stick with me. So, I guess you can say we both won in the end.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the founder and creator of “Open Heart Diaries” a social media segment, where I touch on topics that are on my heart. As well as an up and comping clothing brand “FrvrBold” (Forever Bold) . I think what sets me apart from others, is that I’m fully trusting god and leaning not onto my own understanding.
I’m moving fully on Gods word. I think a lot of people are always trying to figure out what their next step is, but I’m trying to figure out God’s next step for me.
Im the most excited about the future, and where my career will go. I can see myself reaching amazing heights, and going so far in my career and breaking generational curses. I definitely see myself having a talk show of my own in the near future and i’m just so happy to see all the plans God has for me come into fruition.
I’ve gotten where I am today in my career just by following a vision that was given to me, and it’s literally gotten me so far.
I feel like every career choice has its own sets of challenges that can make your job a little hard but, if it’s something you love and are passionate about that’s what’ll give you the drive you need to keep going.
This whole process has taught me so much about myself, the things that I want and don’t want…like and don’t like. I’m only 19 years old but I’ve learned that no one will see your vision for whatever it is your doing like you do, so do it Boldly.
I want the world the know that I’ve created my platform to help other’s, I want to encourage others to have an outlet, and know that there always an open ear to talk to. We have to often remind ourselves that we are not alone and that we have the strength to do anything we put our minds to. I want to be that person for others, as my family has been to me all these years.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
oh okay, this is probably going to be a hard one for me because I really don’t go too many places but I would find a beach to go to because LA is notorious for its beaches.
– Santa Monica beach
– Malibu beach
– Topanga beach
I’d probably find a really cute restaurant to eat at that’ll be good for us to take pictures at, while eating good quality food. I’ve been wanting to try “Post & beam” so we’d have too try that one out. Here’s a couple other restaurants I love, and since i’m pescatarian my choices are really limited.
-joey DTLA
-sol cocina
– Yard house ( has the best, vegan chicken)
– hot n juicy
– Bottega Louie
-simply wholesome
Definitely need a day to go shopping, I would go to century city mall. they have one of the best Zara’s!
I would go too an amusement park since they’re all open now..preferably six flags I love the thrill and the adrenaline rush that comes with rollercoaster riding.
-Go kart world
-knotts ( a absolute favorite of mine)
– The Movies
but aside from all of that I really just enjoy hanging out with my family doing game nights and just talking about ways to grow as a person, so we’d probably spend the most time doing that lol.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely start off by acknowledging God for allowing me to experience the experiences that I have, they’ve played a significant role in me becoming the person that I am today . Secondly, I want to acknowledge my family for helping mold me into the individual I am now, without those two constant reminders of strength and resilience I’m not sure who I would’ve become.
