We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey House and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, what matters most to you?
Value is hard to find these days, We look for it in our careers, relationships, traveling, etc. We try to find our identity wherever we can. Value is a unique thing, it’s like finding a gem in a treasure chest, it may be something only you can offer. I believe God made me one of a kind, so that in the world, when I present my products and talents, it say something about who created me. The value in your product matters because it does something for the customer. The product can give them a sense of hope, healing or whatever it is you’re trying to help the individual with. Even if your product is just a cheeseburger, it still has value because you can give that customer the best night or dinner they ever had. Or if you’re an actor you can make somebody laugh or think about life in a new light through your creativity. We were put on this earth to help others by providing them with products, and services, or whatever we can provide as a loving friend. It’s how the world circles around, it’s called value, and value is always the principle to follow.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I wrote the book “Hauling Hollywood” (Diary Of A Girl Ride-Share Driver) it is a compilation of hilarious stories I have had on the road as a ride-share driver. I have been a SAG-AFTRA actress for a decade, I had picked up the ride-sharing job to enhance my acting skills by meeting different people for character study. I ended up learning more about humanity and compassion, and in my book, I have shared the most profound of my learnings. After being an actress for so many years, I thought writing would be fun but there is always that fear of starting. I’m a surfer and sometimes taking the first plunge into the ocean and getting hit by the first big wave takes all the fear away. So that’s how I start when I want to do something, and don’t know how. Take the plunge! It doesn’t mean you won’t be scared. But courage never ask if you are afraid. I had a friend who gave me great advice! He said, just write a few sentences a day, it will turn into a few paragraphs, and then a few chapters! If you want to write a book, take baby steps of faith! I wanted my book to be a fun read! The book is entertaining with a little bit of advice and wisdom, just like the daily commute! I think whoever reads my book will enjoy light hearted humor!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I surf every day in Manhattan Beach in a surf spot called El Porto. It’s around 39 street and there is a tiny beach restaurant I use to work at called Surf Food Stand and Beach Rental. It’s right on the sand! They provide great burgers and smoothies! And even surfboard rentals! I really enjoyed waitressing there and the food was amazing, and of course the sunsets were beautiful! Burger and sun all the fun!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God has helped me every step of the way. He wrote my life’s story in advance! I plan to stay on destiny’s path and my calling, which is to encourage others. My faith in Jesus has gave my journey purpose and success!
