We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Persist. Persist. Persist. I’ve always known that this was a key factor in the life of an artist but 2020 has definitely tested this in me and I’m sure many artists all around the world. I’ve taken on the challenge and learned to adapt parts of my practice and its just another stepping stone towards my goals that I feel has made me tougher and even more fired up to continue.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am so interested and consumed with the beauty and sensuality of the feminine essence and I feel like I get to tell stories with my hands and create the worlds that I had kept trapped in my mind for so many years, and I’m finding with my work I’m able to give a voice to the inner thoughts of many women I’ve come to meet. I add abstraction to my work to leave the viewers eye filled with different and unexpected marks juxtaposed against the human form. Being a full time artist isn’t always easy but it’s all about persistence and staying true to yourself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is truly the Mecca of amazing vegan food. Cafe gratitude in Hollywood, Gracias Madre in West Hollywood and Little Pine in Silverlake are all amazing. And for tacos, must go to Cacao in Eagle Rock.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Cheryl Medieros! She has a stunning handmade silversmith jewelry line that she’s fully developed while in quarantine. She’s taught herself silversmithing during lockdown and created so much beauty, @stampedesilverco
