We had the good fortune of connecting with Tucker Rowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tucker, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
The way I see it, I kind of never had a choice. Joining the world that was laid out before me in suburban Orange County just seemed too boring haha. I was always somewhat of a black sheep growing up and I think that the arts were a home for kids like me. Whether it was death metal shows in high school or art shows after college, the arts offered the excitement and wonder that I yearned for.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am without a doubt most proud of how far we have come. The Crown Collection started as a small office space in Boulder, CO where we would host little art shows and smoke out the parking garage hahaha. The exponential growth due to sticking to our guns and focusing only on art and creatives that inspire US is what makes me so proud. We never waited for something to be “cool” to support it, but rather supported people and things that we saw as inspiring and thus inspired others to think something similar. It’s challenging to make your own reality and sometimes blindly follow your passion. But I can safely say that it makes life worth living for me and I would want to take the ride any other way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Man we would do it all haha. I would drag them downtown to the jewelry district and our Crown Collection office so I could get my work out of the way and spin it to them how crazy this place is and they would love it and probably end up making some jewelry haha. Then maybe some rooftop drinks at any one of the spots down there. Tacos at the Teddys Red truck in echo park and eat out of the back of my car. Hikes and maybe a trip to Malibu would be in the cards, always with a stop at Broad St if we’re in Malibu. Any and all pop ups by any one of my countless amazing creative friends. Maybe a museum like The Broad, or an art show that’s happening. Probably hit up my boy @Deadhead and go to his crazy vintage space called Catacombs Underground. Maybe a trip to @earthling.vip for some more mind blowing vintage. If it lined up definitely the rose bowl flea. Maybe cap it with a cruise on my buddies sailboat for some oysters and drinks. And that’s just the tip of the ice berg without getting into the late nights hahaha.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say massive shout out to the Colorado creative scene. Colorado was the birth place of what I do now and it couldn’t of happened any where else in my opinion. When my best friend and owner of The Crown Collection, Ryan Rehbock, hit me up about taking this idea to the next level I never thought I’d be going back to Colorado after just graduating college from CU Boulder and moving back to California. But the community we fostered there gave us so so much and it was truly a special time of crazy growth and amazing art shows. That being said, all the shouts out go out to my boy Ryan. I am blessed every day to work along side such a passionate and driven individual. He pours himself into The Crown Collection, our followers and clients endlessly day in and day out.
