We had the good fortune of connecting with Yadira Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yadira, what do you attribute your success to?
Being true to yourself first and foremost. I believe if you are honest and provide the best customer service and not look at the dollar aspect of business that you will be successful in your own right. Chase your dreams, stay determined and motivated and keep learning. All industries are always evolving , stay relevant with the times as well.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
You know the saying ” hard work pays off” it is very true. I have been a Cosmetologist for 15 years and have learned that in order to succeed you will go through growing pains of failure, wanting to give up but don’t. Keep going! You have to crawl before you walk , soak up all the knowledge that you can and apply that to your day to day life. For me I had many days where I was exhausted but I got up every morning with determination to make each day my best. Education is important, I am always learning new tips and tricks with hair styling and makeup application. I love to share this information with clients as well .Another important factor is ”customer service” that truly goes a long way, and will keep your clients coming back as well as clients referring you to others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I personally am a homebody lol! I love being home in some peace and quiet but if I have guests from out of town these are some of my favorite things and places to visit and do . First things first the beach! from Venice to Zuma beach you cannot go wrong there. If we are in season a Dodgers game is a must ( gotta have a Dodger dog and if you’re over 21 an ice cold beer ) my favorite sushi spot unfortunately burned down in Santa Monica , but there are so many great sushi restaurants around LA. for night life I love a low key but fun time! My go to is any bar in Downtown Culver City or Hermosa Beach Pier. Also for the avid hiker I must say go to the Santa Monica mountains! great work out and awesome views.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am today, I want to give a lot of love to all of those who have supported me throughout the revamping of my career. My mom has always told me to go after what I believe and and always pick myself up even if I am knocked down. I have dusted myself off and continued to pursue my dreams regardless of the obstacles I have faced. To all of my clients, family and friends I want to shout YOU out for your ongoing belief in me. Because of all of you I will always step forward and continue to learn and grow not only as an artist but as a person.
