One of our favorite things to do is to ask the folks we are inspired by what they are inspired by. We’ve shared some of their responses below.

Shop Looks | Sustainable Clothing Company

We are inspired by the sustainability movement of Generation Z. Many young adults and teenagers advocate for the end of climate change, which fast fashion heavily contributes to. The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. The factories used to create clothing spew chemicals into the air and water sources, just for the clothes people buy to be thrown out and end up in landfills or the ocean. On a daily basis we see people our age promoting change by adjusting their lifestyle to be eco-friendly. One of the many ways they do so is by purchasing pre-loved clothing. These are people who inspire us to keep educating & contributing to the change we want to see. One of our goals is to provide clothing that will suit changemakers no matter what their personal style is. Read more>>

Lauren Tyler Scott | Songstress

I constantly find myself excited and inspired by a well-formed thought. As a songwriter, I favor lyricisim, and an eloquent turn of phrase can knock me off my chair. To me, lyrics can provide that “ah-ha” moment we are so often seeking as humans. I remember once listening to music on my way home, as you do, and I halted in the middle of the sidewalk, chills all down my arms, because I was like ‘hold on, WHAT did they just say??’ I had an existential realization in that moment all due to another person’s choice of words. A favorite songwriter of mine, Regina Spektor, wrote a song titled “Rejazz” and the opening line is – “I thought I’d cry for you forever, but I couldn’t, so I didn’t. Peoples’ children die and they don’t even cry forever”. That lyric stunned me. What a poignant way to describe the deep and irrational emotions that can accompany heartbreak. Read more>>

Inspiration, while at times a fickle and elusive creature, is more so a tenacious cornerstone of life. It can be spotted and attained quick as a wink, or desired and chased ceaselessly in bouts of unproductivity. The bulk of nouns that inspire me are a continuous and at times overwhelming materialization that sometimes end up becoming paralyzing, especially in regards to music. As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, I get a surge of intrigue, envy, realization, and motivation whenever I hear almost any piece of music. You know when you hear a song, and the lyrics are hitting you in a way that makes you more connected to anything else in the world at that moment, as though the words are perfectly explaining your exact feeling or situation in a way you could never (probably) articulate, but you feel as though you wrote them? It’s that exact feeling but heightened anew with the entire song; the lyrics, the instruments, the tonalities, the arrangements, the production choices, EVERYTHING. Read more>>

Everything. The good, the bad, the ugly. If you believe in the idea of the Creation than you live in one and in an endless amount of inspiration. I love life, and don’t fear death, whatever happens in between is for you to dig in and the possibilities are just infinite. Think about your love life, think about the whys and the reason why you’re asking “why ?”. Think about the tree and how long it been there before you and how long it probably be after. It’s not depressing to me it’s beautiful, isn’t it amazing? Whatever you do in the long run, grander scheme it doesn’t matter, won’t matter, so do what you want! There’s no way you should feel afraid to be vulnerable because it’s a strength, your vulnerability is what brings people together, because deep down, despite all appearances we’re very similar. If those taboos, and doors are put down than I believe we’re really all mirror versions of each other. Read more>>

Sally Ray | Designer / Fabricator

It may sound cliche, but inspiration is everywhere. I’m one of those people who has at least 50 browser windows open at a time, and over 100 Pinterest boards. Nature, science, traditional crafts, antiquities, architecture, folklore, graphic design, world religions- I rarely feel uninspired. The problem comes in the culling of ideas or in choosing which rabbit hole to follow before moving on to development. I find the exploration and research stage so captivating that it is at times difficult to move forward into production. Read more>>

Lindsay Morgan Snyder | Creator of Lindsay Morgan & Co.

I am inspired by ‘the who’ I was originally created to be, I believe we were all crafted by our Maker very specifically and beautifully for the plans He has set out for us. I also believe we get to choose (free will some call it) to cooperate or not. For me, I have had a fascination in following Him to realize the ‘me’ He created in the heavenlies before time ever began. I believe we can come back into alignment with our original design at any time and there will we will find a flow in life, much like a sailboat on a beautiful sunshiney day. I believe if we can shake off all that hinders us and step into alignment with who heaven calls us to be we will become the most fulfilled, joyful, happy, loving people on earth, and that’s inspiring to me. It’s inspiring enough to cause me to push past my fears, doubts and self-sabotaging ways to just keep going no matter what the “mean voice” in my head is trying to say. Being led by the One who originally created me just seems inspiring to me. Read more>>
